Ever have those moments when you doubt yourself, when you wonder if what you are doing is making a difference, when you feel like an imposter … I do!
There are times when I feel like I’m banging my head against a wall and that nothing I do is making a difference. Long days, weekends, late nights, little sleep, neglecting family, all for what??
Then you get an unsolicited text message from a parent like this one!
And you realize that what you do does matter.
That you are making a difference.
That you are changing lives.
Just continue to stay the course, do the work and trust the process.
I don’t just teach it, I live it, I experience it and I have the same feelings and emotions that anyone else does. I just happen to do it behind the title of mental performance coach.
I believe that my role as a servant leader is to help as many young athletes and their families as I can. I’m so proud of the work that my athletes do on themselves to find that something, deep down inside that allows them to believe that “they can” and then to “let the reigns out” and watch as it all unfolds in front of them … confidence, success, resilience, grit … all these dormant characteristics come to life and they can look in the mirror and wink at the person starring back at them and know they are gonna be alright!
I truly am blessed!
